Chapter 4/3 The path of three

“When will we eat? I’m hungry.” the brute changes the subject as it was the most natural thing ever. “Without proper food, this journey will be a very bad one.” he states out loud.

“Good to know your biggest problem is food right now, you should tell the wuja girl about your philosophy, she might calm down a little.” the calm man teases the brute.

The brute suddenly turns pretty serious “Being well fed is important you know… It will keep you strong, and help with your wits!” he says.

The calm man laughs “Oh I see… That’s why you eat so much… I suggest you don’t stop.”

“I’m getting hungry too” says the old man.

“Great.” the calm man responds with a very serious face. “Are you hungry too?” he turns to the girl.

“What? No… I can’t… eat… now…” she says while she’s still sobbing.

“Why can’t you just calm down already? No matter how you behave, it won’t change our situation.” the older man adds.

“She’s either hysterical or It’s the wuja withdrawal… or both…” replies the calm man.

“What is wuja?” the woman asks confused.

“You’re using it and don’t know what it is?” the calm man asks with suspicion all over his face. “Wait a minute, you really don’t remember anything at all?”

The girl stops crying, though remains on the edge. She tries to think hard, even closing her eyes. After half a minute in that state, her eyes open up slowly filled with desperation “Can’t remember anything.” she says, and crying takes her over again. “Why? Why can’t I remember?”

“Strange” the older man says.

“Indeed, maybe the hit on her head” the calmer one responds with a thoughtful look.

The hatch door springs open at the end of the chamber and not a second later, three men appear on the stairs, slowly walking down. Two of them carry a big cauldron and the third one swings a large spoon in his hand, back and forth. They are armored up with the kind of armor that lets you move rather easily, though its iron plates offer plenty on protection too. Apart from their medium type of armor, they are also equipped with the same, common type iron swords.
